Ms. Peet has lived in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti for over 30 years, loving the diversity found in our area.  A life-long learner, Ms. Peet started college at the University of Michigan and completed two degrees at EMU before earning her Masters in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University. She joined the ECA in 2009 from Ypsilanti High School, where she served as the Arts Department Chairperson and taught Drama, English, and Speech. While at YHS she was named UMS Teacher of the Year and her theater program was ranked among the top in US high schools. Among her many roles besides Assistant Principal at the ECA are Academy Coordinator, CORE Adviser, Arts Program Liaison, and trainer in restorative and social justice practices.  A first generation college graduate, she serves on EMU’s McNair Scholars Advisory Board as well as other state and county-wide educational groups.  When taking a break from the ECA, Ms. Peet enjoys traveling, hiking, pilates, reading, live performances, and spending time with her family, friends, and pets.
