Ms. Benson is originally from Ypsilanti, MI but graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelors's in Biology. She spent a year as a Zebrafish research assistant for the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center before becoming a substitute teacher and library clerk for Lincoln and Huron High schools. Ms. Benson also works as an instructional assistant for Wolverine Pathways, a college readiness program. During her free time, she enjoys going on adventures with her two children, playing video games, and doing DIY projects.
